It’s a special “Thank you” to all our customers at Ryecorn Wholefoods and Blakeley’s Fish & Chip Take-Away and for anyone else for shopping in Brighouse during the pandemic.
On the first four Sundays in August, we will be operating a barge provided by Calder Navigation Society. The boat will pick up passengers by the Huddersfield Road Bridge near Sainsbury’s
The cruise will take you to the canal basin to turn around and then sail up to the first lock where the barge will again turn and bring you back to the town centre. The journey takes just 30 minutes so not much chance of being canal sick. (There are facilities on-board).
Calder Navigation Society is a charity and operates the barge “SAVILE” for the benefit of canal users and dependants. A collection bucket is on-board for donations.
Blakeley’s Fish & Chip Take-Away has a special deal of Fish & Chips and a Canal Cruise for just £5.00 per person.
Ryecorn Wholefoods is offering a cruise for just £1.00 including a free drink on-board.
Buy your tickets at Ryecorn Wholefoods & Harrison Lord Gallery, Bradford Road. Or book online here
As space is limited to 12 passengers per trip you need to book your passage to ensure a seat.
NB Casual bookings cannot be taken on the day without a ticket.
Brighouse Arts Festival will return in October 2021
We’re sure everyone is aware of the unusual and difficult times coronavirus has placed us in. As organisers of the Brighouse Arts Festival our mains priorities are the safety of our audiences, volunteers and artists. We are also aware of the safety requirements for our partner churches, libraries and community halls, and the social sanctions in place throughout Calderdale.
We can assure you that it is our intention to run the Festival just as soon as it is safe to do so. We are therefore looking forward to October 2021! We just need to settle on dates, liaise with artists, and see how things go.
Please keep an eye on the website and social media for updates. All tickets will be valid for the postponed 2020 events.
For now, we hope you remain safe, and look forward to when we can re-launch our programme later this year.
Creative Art Challenge
The Creative Art Challenge happened during Lockdown 1.0 in 2020 and Lockdown 3.0 in 2021.
