Using the observable self as her starting point she is exploring, through the expanded medium of ceramics, how a creative practice interacts with domestic obligations. Her practice often relies upon the vessel as a ubiquitous form with which we have an intimate relationship and often plays with the dichotomies of public/private, function/non-function, Male/female and Craft/Art.
This year she is presenting at the International Ceramics Festival, has a solo show at the Whitaker Museum in Rossendale and is Artist in Residence at the beautiful Rochdale Town Hall.
Angela is a sculptor from the North West. She works in the expanded filed of contemporary ceramics and is currently a PhD researcher with the University of Sunderland. She works from her home studio on the edge of the Pennine hills and has her professional base at Ebor Studios in Littleborough.
